Big news for Texans—
Governor Greg Abbott has officially signed House Bill 4099, bringing a major win for patients and physical therapists across the state. Starting September 1st, licensed physical therapists in Texas will be able to treat patients without a referral for up to 30 calendar days.
What’s changing?
Previously, physical therapists in Texas could only treat patients for 10–15 business dayswithout a referral, depending on their license level. Now, HB4099 extends that access to 30 calendar days for most physical therapists—no more counting business days!
What does this mean for you?
It means quicker access to the care you need. This is a game-changer for anyone dealing with pain, injury, or mobility issues.
Whether it’s back pain, a sprained ankle, or post-op rehab—you don’t have to wait to get started. You can head straight to any of our Momentum clinics—no referral needed—and start healing right away.
Why this matters:
This change reduces delays, lowers healthcare costs, and gives Texans more control over their health. It’s especially helpful for managing pain early, preventing injuries from worsening, and getting back to doing the things you love—faster.
At Momentum, we’ve always believed that movement is medicine. And now, with HB4099 in place, getting started on your healing journey just became a whole lot easier. Faster access = faster recovery. And that’s something to celebrate.
