Valentine's Date Ideas.February means love is in the air. Regardless of whether you’re single, dating or married with kids, we’ve created a list of some great outdoor activities you can do with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day. These are some of our favorite outdoor activities that you can do with your partner, children or even your best friend.

Have a Picnic

Step outside and away from the table. Pack your favorite lunch and enjoy an afternoon in the Texas sun. If you’re not sure what to make, you can try some of our favorite heart-healthy soups to keep you warm. If you don’t feel like cooking, pick up your favorite take out. Remember to bring along something to play and get moving. A soccer ball, frisbee or kite are sure to add some action to your Valentine’s Day picnic.

Go On a Bike Ride

Looking to put the “active” in activity? Try a bike ride. San Antonio is home to lots of scenic bike trails for every skill level. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and get your heart rate pumping.  Cycling is often preferred over running thanks to its low impact cardio benefits. Cardio is only one of the many benefits of bicycling. If you don’t own a bicycle you can rent one! B-cycle allows you to rent bikes directly from a B-cycle station.

Plan a Scavenger Hunt or Go Geocaching

If you are celebrating the day with little ones, a scavenger hunt is a fun activity to keep children engaged. If you decide to do a scavenger hunt, it’s important to make sure that everyone knows to stay within sight of each other and out of the street. Feel free to make it more interesting with a prize for the person who finished quickest.

Geocaching is similar to a scavenger hunt. Using your phone or GPS, you can sign up for the Geocaching app to find caches (hidden items) in your area. These come in all sizes and levels of difficulty. Using the app, you follow the clues and directions to find the cache. Once you find it, you sign the log book, check in and can even swap out what you find for other things. Geocaching is a great way to explore areas of the city you’ve never visited.

Play Tourist

San Antonio was founded in 1718, so there is plenty of history to experience. Pack a lunch and explore this amazing city. History buffs can visit the Alamo or any of the other famous missions in San Antonio. For modern living with a historic flair, check out the Pearl Brewery for local restaurants, shopping, coffee and more. Those looking for a more romantic setting can make reservations for dinner at one of the many restaurants on San Antonio’s famous River Walk. All of these activities are great for anyone who wants to enjoy a stroll highlighted by the sights and sounds of San Antonio.

These are just a few fun outdoor activities you can do to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved ones. Let us know in the comments what you plan to do on Valentine’s Day or if you’ll try any of the ideas we shared.
