About

BACKGROUND

As a child, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the healthcare field. I first became interested in the physical therapy field after seeing my grandma receive physical therapy while she was in the hospital. I was involved in volleyball and basketball throughout middle school and high school, which allowed me to see how physical therapy can assist athletes recovering from injury. I was amazed how physical therapy could have an impact on so many different patient populations and knew I was very interested in becoming a Physical Therapist.

EDUCATION

As early as high school, I realized a healthy grade point average and being successful in academics were requirements for me to become a Physical Therapist. With that in mind, I pursued my studies with a dedication to achieving my ultimate career goals in mind. I also knew I had to dedicate myself to learning things practically, through observation hours and experience in the clinic. As a senior in high school, I shadowed a Physical Therapist. While completing my undergraduate degree at Baylor University, I completed an internship at a local physical therapy clinic. I applied and was accepted to Physical Therapy school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where I earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Starting my career at Momentum Physical Therapy, I am dedicated to continue learning and developing my skills to help patients attain the best quality of life possible.

TEAM APPROACH

I am blessed to be in a career field that allows me to work in a team environment and impact people’s lives. This team approach is a key component as patients return to their previous lifestyle. Physical therapy helps educate people and know they have a support system that is focused on helping them overcome their limitations. This is further emphasized by our service to the community inside and outside of the clinic. I have been able to serve my community through organizations such as Kinetic Kids, Habitat for Humanity, and the Parkinson’s Outreach Program. I look forward to continuing this service to others as I increase my knowledge and experience as a physical therapist.
