The Beginning

After high school, I did not give much thought to what my future would have in store for me.
Being involved in sports most of my life, I had developed a passion for exercise and a fascination
with the mechanics of the body and the intricate details necessary to improve strength and
overall well-being. Prior to my journey into physical therapy, I began my college career in the
field of education with the intent of helping and providing guidance to others with hopes to
possibly becoming a coach or trainer to young athletes. However, as I continued down this road,
it occurred to me that I was not content in where this path was leading. I found myself at a
crossroad and had no clue which direction to go, but sometimes being in the wrong place at the
wrong time is all the nudge you need to find yourself in the right place at the right time. After
finding myself in a physical therapy clinic, as a patient, due to a work related injury, it finally
clicked that this was the career for me. After this encounter, It was clear to me that physical
therapy would allow me to combine education and exercise, fulfilling my passion for educating
and providing guidance to others in achieving their personal and functional goals as well as
promoting health and wellbeing through functional exercise. I went on to receive my Bachelor's
degree in Exercise Science with a PT emphasis from Texas A&M San Antonio and the rest is
history.

It’s not work

“If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” As a physical therapist, I am
given the opportunity to do what I love and call it “work.” I love talking with people from
different walks of life, learning their story and goals, and helping them work toward improving
their ability to return to doing the things that they love. Whether I am helping to improve motor
function with a kiddo through bear crawling races or helping an older adult improve their
balance to allow them to safely go for walks with their grandkids, I have a great desire to help
people return to the things that are important to them which makes doing what I do important to
me.
