MY JOURNEY TO PT
Throughout my life, I have always been around sports and rehabilitation due to my father’s career as an athletic trainer. Unlike some who knew they were destined for a career in physical therapy, I originally envisioned myself following my father’s athletic training footsteps. Watching him rehab athletes on a daily basis made me fall in love with the profession. While receiving my undergraduate degree at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), my roommate was majoring in Rehabilitative Science/Pre-Physical Therapy. I noticed how much she loved her classes and excelled in all of them. I learned more about the profession and soon realized that physical therapy was the career for me. I later was accepted into UIW’s School of Physical Therapy where I earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.
DEDICATION TO THE PROFESSION
Rehabilitation has always been a passion of mine. I have always been dedicated to helping my patients better understand their injury and get them on a path to wellness. I am dedicated to giving each of my patients the appropriate amount of one-on-one time, delivering the most up-to-date treatments, and perfecting treatment techniques in order to get my patients back to their daily lives quicker, with better results. I love getting to wake up every morning with the possibility of making a positive impact on my patient’s well-being.
SERVING MY COMMUNITY
I am an active member of my church and my community, and I am blessed to be able to work in a profession that allows me to help others on a day to day basis. Because of my faith, I believe it is my duty, both personally and professionally, to help others. I have taken vast efforts to help make my community better by serving organizations such as Kinetic Kids, Catholic Charities, YMCA, San Antonio Food Bank, and more. I look forward to continuing serving my community and offering my service to those in need while I continue my growth as a physical therapist and an individual
