Becoming a Physical Therapist

At the age of 17, I was first exposed to physical therapy due to a reoccurring hamstring injury I experienced while playing high school football. My physical therapist’s knowledge of the rehabilitation process and enthusiasm for my recovery ignited my interest in the profession. During college, my interest continued to grow, as I began to observe and volunteer in many different clinical settings. These experiences convinced me to pursue a rewarding career in physical therapy so that I could help others just as I was once helped. I applied and was accepted into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Angelo State University. After graduation, I moved to San Antonio and began my career as a physical therapist.

Moving Ahead

Being a physical therapist provides me with a great opportunity to learn each day. As I strive to educate my patients, each patient provides me an opportunity to learn as well. Each of these unique opportunities, coupled with my desire for continuing education through self-study, collaboration with colleagues, and continuing education courses, allows me to continue growing as a physical therapist and provide a highly quality of care to each of my patients.

I am new to San Antonio, moving here shortly after graduation from physical therapy school. I am excited to learn more about this city and become involved within the community; contributing through both my professional and personal life. In my spare time I enjoy weight lifting, cooking, and being outdoors. I look forward to becoming a part of the San Antonio community and giving back in a variety of ways.
