My interest in health care began at an early age, growing up with a close cousin who suff ered from a disease that severely limited his way of life. This experience first led me down the path of teaching, where I believed I could combine the shaping of young minds and my love of health and athletics into a career in teaching health sciences. However, shortly after obtaining my undergraduate degree in the fi eld, I was left with a feeling I could do more than just teach in a school setting. I wanted to not only share my knowledge of health and its benefits, but I felt I could use that in a practical manner that would bring people physical comfort and healing. I began to shadow a physical therapist and quickly realized the impact he had on the health of his patients, and the happiness that it brought to those who had previously felt pain and physical limitations.
MY NEW PATH
I began my career as a physical therapist by being accepted into the University of the Incarnate Word Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. While there, I had the great fortune of having professors and instructors who had accumulated experience in several different physical therapy settings, allowing me to learn several different methods and techniques. I also learned the value of reasoning through a patient’s diagnosis to ensure the best possible outcome. I believe each patient presents a unique set of challenges and deserves a unique set of solutions. This is why you will see me develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to you and your symptoms.
WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER CARE
A physical therapist has the opportunity to provide a level of service not found in many medical settings. We believe a patient’s mental strength is of great importance to their overall health and success during physical therapy. I believe it is my responsibility to motivate my patients towards the healthy outcomes we all strive for. I promise to provide compassionate and personal care that will make each patient feel comfortable and confident they are receiving the absolute best care. It is my desire to see each patient out the door with all of their goals met, and the mental confidence they need to continue a healthy lifestyle and a long future. We are always in this together.
