"I am dedicated to serving the patients that we see in the clinic return to what he or she loves to do in the most compassionate way."

Evan Barnes

My life has always been centered on athletics. I started playing sports when I was five years old and gravitated very quickly towards basketball. Basketball has been a huge catalyst for me and is where I first learned about physical therapy. One of my friends tore his ACL, had reconstructive surgery, and told me about his experiences and how he was rehabbing from his surgery. After he completed his physical therapy rehabilitation, my friend went on to play college basketball and had returned to his prior level of function and achieved his therapy goals. This is where I discovered that a Physical Therapist could make all the difference in someone’s life.

Whether that difference is returning to a particular sport, hobby, or simply returning to performing necessary tasks of everyday life, the ability to work with someone in order to help that person return to their desired activity or lifestyle is something that I am passionate about.

As a Physical Therapist, my goal is to help our patients to become confident with their recovery and be comfortable with their return to their prior level of function and achieve their goals. I believe that exercise is a powerful tool to live a healthy lifestyle and that everyone should be confident in their body. I strive to serve the patients that we see in our clinic with compassion and empathy while empowering each individual. My goals for the future as a physical therapist are to pursue additional certifications in strength and conditioning and become certified in sports physical therapy.

One of my passions is basketball. I grew up in San Antonio and I am a huge fan of  The San Antonio Spurs. I enjoy playing basketball in my free time and being with friends and family. I am also dedicated to my patients and I do my best to stay up to date with the latest research through various orthopedic physical therapy journals.  I am very interested in pursuing additional certifications in manual therapy as well as strength and conditioning in order to better serve the patients that we see in our clinics. I love San Antonio and I’m excited to serve the greater San Antonio area as a Physical Therapist with Momentum Physical Therapy.
