"Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t."

Catherine Daas

My interest in healthcare started during my undergraduate studies when I was involved in a motor vehicle-related accident while riding my bike. I was injured during the accident, but thankfully, everything is more than fine now. At the time, I found myself fascinated by how different tissues heal and what we can do to optimize the healing process. I was intrigued to learn more and consider joining the PT profession. However, my decision was made final after helping with my grandmother’s stroke recovery. Seeing the positive impact that the PT had on my grandmother’s health and well-being was all I needed to make my final decision to become a PT. I know good health care can be central to the quality of life, and I want to help my patients with that now and in the future.

After earning my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and passing the licensing board exam to become a licensed Physical Therapist, I knew I was committing myself to a lifetime of continuous learning in order to provide the best care possible to all of my patients. I continue following new research with the goal of continuing to be an evidence-informed practitioner. I maintain journal subscriptions to learn about new research through my American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) membership. I participate in continuing education courses both
online and in-person throughout the year in order to stay as up to date as possible with the latest techniques and newest findings with the best techniques. I am forever committed to and always look forward to learning new ways to help my patients.

In order to maintain good fi tness, I am physically active throughout each week. Sometimes, I focus on rehab inspired exercises to bring back to the clinic. Frequently, you can find me climbing at the local rock gym or doing some other outdoor hobbies. I feel passionate about getting outside. I also enjoy spending my down time with my family in San
Antonio where we like to cook together and play board games.
