Learning at Every Opportunity

I firmly believe that continuing to learn and improve clinical practice skills should be a requirement for every practicing physical therapist. I also believe that a solid foundation can put you in a position for continued success and improvement. Learning by personal experience, attending relevant continuing-education classes and staying current with new research articles are ways to add to that foundation. I have a responsibility to all patients to provide the best care possible and to make their experience in therapy an enjoyable one.

Driven to Therapy

As a high school football player in San Antonio during the late 1990s, I found myself in the training room often due to nagging injuries. Being young at the time and not having extensive knowledge about injuries and rehabilitation, I was not completely satisfied with with the explanations about my various injuries or treatments the training staff provided. It was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in physical therapy so that I could provide the latest proven treatment methods and give all patients an understandable explanation of their diagnosis and treatments. This allows me to work with all patients in achieving their therapy goals faster.

Serving The Community

I had lived in San Antonio from 1988 until just before the summer of 2004, when I moved to West Texas to attend physical therapy school. While in PT school, I volunteered with various groups such as the Lubbock Pet Project. I also participated in many health fairs to improve public education/awareness efforts in the Midland/Odessa area. I did not realize how much I loved the city of San Antonio, and surrounding areas, until I left and moved to West Texas. I decided during my first year of PT school that I would be returning to San Antonio to start my career as a physical therapist. This community has helped shape the person I have become, and I look forward to the opportunity to give back to the community that I will always call home.
