Learning From My Experiences

I have been an active participant in sports during each phase of my life. As can be expected, I have had my fair share of bumps, bruises, and injuries throughout the years. My experiences playing sports throughout middle school, high school, and college helped me realize exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Going through physical therapy helped me make full returns from my injuries and I quickly recognized the benefits of physical therapy. I was always intrigued with the science of healing and rehabilitating injuries and found that a career as a Physical Therapist would allow me to help others overcome many of the problems I had already encountered and also help me fulfill my personal needs to learn and be challenged each and every day I come to work.

Balance in Treatment

My approach to patient care consists of a balance between hands-on care and active exercise. In my years as a Physical Therapist, I have found patients improve faster when soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, or manual stretching (all of which are manual therapy or hands-on techniques) are combined with the right intensity of active exercise. Research has also proven that manual therapy techniques, when combined with traditional physical therapy exercise regimes, helps reduce rehabilitation times and helps produce superior patient outcomes. I take pride in helping patients return to their pre-injury activities like competitive sports, recreational activities, or just simple work in and around the household.

Serving My Community

I find giving back to the community very satisfying and really enjoy giving back to the community I have been a part of for so many years. During my years in San Antonio, I have volunteered my time as a coach and referee for the “Little Dribblers” league, volunteered at local health fairs, and have also volunteered my time at numerous public events throughout the years. I feel getting involved in the community is a great way to give back to those who have inspired me and I always enjoy opportunities to help others.
